Data Centres

A defined methodology for recovering data-centre cooling energy.

Enerzyz's continuous, telemetry-based optimisation platform — proven on HVAC and central plant — applies directly to data-centre cooling and power infrastructure, working alongside your existing DCIM, BMS and SCADA systems. No rip-and-replace.

Enerzyz's approach carries an operating discipline shaped by hospitality — one of the most demanding environments there is for uptime, service, security and cost control under constant pressure. That same discipline translates directly to data centres: reliability that can't be compromised, rapid response when something needs attention, and efficiency gains that never come at the expense of resilience or security.

The problem

A data centre's efficiency is usually tracked through PUE (power usage effectiveness) — the ratio of total facility power to IT load. In practice, most facilities run more conservatively than their actual thermal load requires: cooling is provisioned for worst-case conditions and rarely re-tuned as load and layout change, which shows up as overcooling, uneven airflow across rows and segments, and CRAC/CRAH units running outside their optimal range. None of this typically trips an alarm — standard monitoring tracks whether equipment is within safe limits, not whether it's running efficiently — and at 24/7 continuous operation, even a small, sustained inefficiency compounds into a meaningful and recurring cost.

Where Enerzyz fits

Enerzyz connects to your existing infrastructure — DCIM, BMS, SCADA, precision air-handling units (PAHU) and CRAC/CRAH systems — over the protocols already running in your facility, typically Modbus and BACnet, plus rack- and room-level thermal telemetry where available. Nothing is ripped out or replaced; Enerzyz reads what's already there and adds a continuous analysis and optimisation layer on top of it.

The same operating model applies here as in every other vertical: read-only by default while a baseline is established, any move to active optimisation is opt-in and reviewed and approved by your team, every action is logged and reversible, and your operators retain override authority at all times. Your BMS/SCADA layer remains the authoritative control system throughout.

Security is treated with the same discipline as reliability, not as an afterthought: ISO/IEC 27001 certified, read-only by default, no inbound ports, isolated from your data and building networks. See Security & Data → for the full platform posture, which applies here the same as everywhere else.

What Enerzyz is built to analyse

Overcooling & supply-temperature optimisation

Platform capability

Compares supply-air temperature and cooling output against actual rack- and room-level thermal load, to identify where cooling is being delivered well beyond what the load requires.

Airflow modulation

Platform capability

Continuously tunes fan speed and airflow delivery to real-time demand rather than a fixed setpoint, within the safe operating envelope your engineers define.

Cross-segment thermal balancing

Platform capability

Uses rack- and room-level thermal telemetry to find hot/cold-aisle and cross-segment imbalance across the floor, so cooling capacity is redistributed to where it's actually needed.

Cooling inefficiency & PUE drift

Platform capability

Tracks PUE against IT load and CRAC/CRAH supply-air temperature against setpoint, to catch drift consistent with filter blockage or coil fouling before it becomes a sustained cost.

UPS & power anomaly detection

Platform capability

Pattern analysis surfaces recurring draw anomalies invisible to standard monitoring, and ties them to the specific process and circuit responsible.

Broader electrical & life-safety analytics

Platform capability

The same telemetry-analysis approach extends to UPS health and loading trends, generator readiness signals, transformer thermal trends, on-site solar performance, and correlating fire/alarm events against operational data — as analysis and early-warning support for your engineering team, never as autonomous control of UPS, generators, transformers or life-safety systems.

What this could be worth

Indicative opportunity

Modelled opportunity ranges, pending your site's own data — not customer results or guarantees.

Overcooling removal

8–12%

Right-sizing cooling delivered against actual, not assumed, thermal load.

Airflow modulation

5–10%

Fan-speed and airflow tuned to real-time demand rather than fixed setpoints.

Cross-segment thermal balancing

2–4%

Correcting hot/cold-aisle and cross-segment imbalance across the room.

Combined, de-rated opportunity

15–25%

The realistic combined range once overlap between the above is accounted for.

Illustrative facility model — not an Enerzyz customer result

For a representative 5 MW facility of roughly 500 racks, the ranges above translate into a material annual cooling-energy cost opportunity at typical data-centre power pricing. This is a worked example to illustrate scale, built from the ranges above — it is not a deployment result, a quote, or a guarantee for any specific facility. Your own opportunity depends on your site's current cooling design, load profile and location, which is exactly what an assessment establishes.

How it starts

A free Facility Readiness Assessment is the first step, and it's exactly how a first data-centre deployment gets evaluated: independent and advisory-only, it establishes whether your facility is a good fit, what telemetry and systems are already available (DCIM, BMS, SCADA, rack/room sensors), what a realistic baseline looks like, and what the optimisation opportunity could be worth on your own data — before anything is committed to.

Where we are today

Technical platform capability & methodology

Platform capability

The platform, integration approach and optimisation methodology described on this page are real and in place today: continuous telemetry-based analysis across DCIM/BMS/SCADA, Modbus/BACnet connectivity, rack- and room-level thermal balancing, and the read-only-first, customer-approved operating model that governs every Enerzyz deployment. This is the same underlying capability proven on HVAC and central plant at InterContinental Dhaka, applied to data-centre cooling and power infrastructure.

No public data-centre deployment yet

Proven result

We do not yet have a published data-centre case study, and we're not claiming one. Our verified deployment evidence to date is the InterContinental Dhaka hotel case study — an IPMVP-verified 25.8% HVAC energy reduction over three months, with zero disruption. An assessment is how a data-centre result gets established honestly, on your facility's own data.
